Preschool for Your Child

The Child Development Lab School at Daytona State College provides care and education for children ages 2-5 years old. The Lab School also serves as a valuable learning experience for many Daytona State College students as they observe children, engage in learning activities and experience their practicum throughout the year.

Children are cared for on campus in the Lab School preschool program. Children 2 - 5 years of age are accepted for enrollment.

Nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Child & Family Services (COA) and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the Lab School is also a participant in the Voluntary PreK program for the State of Florida and is a recipient of State of Florida Gold Seal of Excellence .

Children of Daytona State College students are given first priority for placement, but any child may be accepted providing space is available.

Any parent interested in enrolling their child is encouraged to visit the Lab School to observe the program and pick up enrollment information.

The mission of the Lab School is to provide a safe, positive, nurturing learning environment where children can develop cognitively, emotionally, physically and socially.

In partnership with Daytona State College, the managing agency of the Lab School is Children's Home Society of Florida. Children's Home Society of Florida, founded in 1902 is the oldest and largest statewide not-for-profit organization providing child welfare serices for children and their families. The North Coastal Division opened in 1964 to serve children and families in Volusia and Flagler counties. Please visit their website to learn more.
